I rise; the oceans sing -
The zee, its blackened waters pitch,
Seeks to bury me
Calls to me, with eerie glow:
Pitch - pitch, hitch, witch, stitch, rich, mich, zilch - bewitch?
Glow - glow, so, sow, row, tow, -- undertow? undertow
The zee, its blackened waters pitch,
Calls to me, with eerie glow:
It seeks to leave me all betwitched,
So I need not fear the undertow.
Yet any wizened sailor knows:
The zee, though her bounty sweet,
Would happily take you to impose
Upon her Master's lies and deceit.
DO NOT USE; DANGEROUS, INSULTING
Quite a few years ago now, a friend of mine bought me the game Sunless Seas. From there, I got involved with the main game Fallen London. The creators of Fallen London, Failbetter Games, describe it as a "comic horror" as opposed to cosmic horror. It creates eerie feelings, is spooky and unnerving, and deals with superstition and old gods. How could I not be inspired by it?
It helps that Enigma's into it, too.
With that being said, these pages are about my Fallen London OC (original character). Ne's a bit of a self-insert, a bit of nir own thing, and completely interesting. I like rotating nem around in my head like a rotisserie chicken. In Sunless Seas and Sunless Skies, you can upgrade various officers to be better versions of themselves. Fallen London has some character upgrading dynamics, too, even if it's not as prominent as the two other games. Thus, my character, too, can be upgraded. It's mostly just a bunch of various "what if" scenarios that I enjoy thinking about.
I call nem "The Poet" for short.
Warning for spoilers for Fallen London and Sunless Seas.
